Our Favourite Locations That Help Create A Relaxed And Fun Wedding Day

There are lots of alternative venues in Northern Ireland if you decide you don’t want a hotel reception. These venues only host one wedding per day. You will have the place to yourselves and your guests, no-one else. It is a much more intimate way of hosting your wedding. They also all have the option to host the ceremony. Everything can be in one place at your wedding reducing the amount of time your guests spend travelling and maximising the amount of time they spend relaxing and enjoying themselves!

We have photographed a lot of weddings all over Northern Ireland and found that these 5 were the best. They all have incredibly beautiful surroundings, charming reception areas and are ran by a professional and friendly staff that will make sure everything runs smoothly.
So in no particular order.

The Orange Tree House, Greyabbey

This is truly a hidden gem, tucked away in the corner of Strangford Lough, offering your guests views stretching down to the Mourne Mountains. It is a unique and beautiful location. The exposed beams and stone barn style are the perfect setting for a romantic and relaxed wedding by the lough. We couldn’t praise this place enough. It is truly one of our favourites. From the staff to the view, it has everything to make your day stress free and unforgettable!

Tullyveery House, Killyleagh

This gorgeous Georgian country house is surrounded by beautiful private grounds and you are spoilt with the surrounding fields and stunning views which the owner is happy for you to use. Every time we photograph a wedding here the grounds have always been in immaculate condition. The rolling farmland as far as the eye can see is ideal for a relaxed country wedding.

The Carriage Rooms, Montalto Estate

This luxurious estate is something out of a fairytale. The Carriage Rooms are set in some of the most beautiful countryside Northern Ireland has to offer. Brick walls and exposed wooden beams give warmth and romance for your guests to relax in, while the secluded lake and rolling hills offer limitless photographic opportunities. This amazing location is a unique blend of rustic charm and sophisticated elegance that makes it truly special.

Larchfield Estate, Lisburn

Cobbled courtyards, stone wall barn, rose archways are to name a few of the features that are distinct at Larchfield Estate. Its a very peaceful place, set in an estate stretching over 600 acres with its own woodland and lake.

The Wool Tower, Broughshane

Last but definitely not least! Its incredible how what once was commercial and industrial looks so good when you combine it with the elegance and beauty a wedding brings. The Wool Tower is a stunning venue full of character and the open-plan design breeds a warm and welcoming atmosphere. What it lacks in polish it makes up for in character!
